Sinopse
Durante a revolução cultural, um grupo de jovens acusados de reacionários é levado para uma comunidade agrícola nas montanhas, para serem reeducados. Lá, os dois amigos Luo e Ma conhecem uma camponesa, neta de um famoso costureiro da região. Os três começam a andar juntos e debater ideias e modos de vida diversificados, até que encontram uma coleção de livros proibidos.
