Sinopse
Durante a Segunda Guerra Mundial, um ex-artista de renome, Sir (Albert Finney), agora deve se contentar em liderar um grupo de atores de má qualidade e rejeitados em performances de peças de Shakespeare. Sua ansiedade, arrependimento e idade começam a pesar e seu trabalho começa a definhar. Apenas Norman (Tom Courtenay), seu tímido camareiro, que é infalivelmente dedicado a Sir , pode continuar o show que corre o risco de acabar.
